blue eyes smiling

These two and their gorgeous blue eyes. Phew. So gorgeous.

This little man and his beautiful (and incredible!) mama came to visit me today, on this freakishly lovely day… you’d think it were April or May not December! The last time I photographed Zacharias was with his grandpa, while his amazing mama was serving in Afghanistan this past year. I first photographed him when he was six months old… so fun to watch them grow…now he is off and running and just so adorable.

I’m so thrilled you’re home mama and I know Zacharias is too. Thanks for the visit, and have a wonderful, wonderful holiday!

Feast of St. Nicholas 2012

Today is the Feast of Saint Nicholas… a day my sisters and I always looked forward to growing up…

The tradition in our family (and for many families around the world) is that children put a pair of shoes outside their room for St. Nick before bedtime on December 5th…and if they’ve been good all year leading up to the Christmas season…he will leave them a treat in their shoes the next morning. I love this tradition… it is so fun and so special to carry it on with my own children! This year Saint Nick brought Ava a new pair of mittens (such a practical guy 😉 ) and some jelly beans and he brought a new rattle for Charlie.

Happy feast of Saint Nicholas day!

Leyla, Kaya and Chloe

Today we had a very special visit from some very special friends. The D family recently moved from the UK over to our side of the pond, and drove down to visit us for the day. The last time we saw them…Mike & I weren’t parents…and they were only parents to one babe…now they have three and we have two and wow did we have a fun visit. It was so wonderful and at times surreal to see all our little tykes playing together…especially when we think of how the last time we were all together more than half of them weren’t even born yet!

While they were here we did a family session…and got some beautiful shots of these beautiful kids. Thank you so much for making the trip to come see us guys! It was simply wonderful to see you and meet the rest of your beautiful, adorable, lovable family.

the F family 2012

I don’t know who is more beautiful than the next in this family… they were a dream to photograph. Not only are they a gorgeous family…they are all so enjoyable to be around! Dad is leaving today to join the Navy… so this was a VERY important session for this family. We captured so many beautiful images, and even got some of grandma and her beautiful grandsons.

Had such a fun time with this family! Discovered a fool proof new trick for getting a smile out of toddler…hide behind my reflector and play peekaboo… worked every single time with this little guy!!

Thank you F family, for the enormous sacrifice you are making for our country… and thank you so much for choosing me as your photographer!

the M family 2012

This was a very special session. For me and for the beautiful mama in the pictures. We have known each other for probably twenty years or more… which WOW makes me feel pretty… aged. Liz is the lovely photographer behind Elizabeth Watsky Photography  www.elizabethwatskyphotography.com . She and I grew up in the same smallish town and have reconnected all these years later to find we are both young moms working as photographers… without any professional pictures of our own families. (Shoemakers’ kids…) so Liz had the GENIUS idea to start a portrait swap… I do her family’s, she does mine. So we did. And here they are! The first of hopefully many years’ worth of treasured portraits! We met at gorgeous Waterplace Park in Providence, RI on a ridiculously gorgeous Sunday afternoon…such an awesome location choice.

Thank you so much for suggesting this fabulous, fabulous idea Liz~  Enjoy <3
